This student travel award has been established in memory of late Prof. Som Nath Mahendra from the Department of Electrical Engineering, Indian Institute of technology, (BHU), Varanasi, India. The awards will be given to up to 5 recipients. The award consists of a certificate and 10,000 INR to cover registration and travel expenses.
This student travel award has been established in memory of late Prof. Subhashish Nandi from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Victoria, BC, Canada. The awards will be given to up to 5 recipients. The award consists of a certificate and 10,000 INR to cover registration and travel expenses.
This student travel award has been established in memory of late Prof. Paresh Chandra Sen from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Queen's University, Kingston, ON, Canada. The awards will be given to up to 5 recipients. The award consists of a certificate and 10,000 INR to cover registration and travel expenses.
This student travel award has been established in memory of late Prof. Ned Mohan from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, MN, USA. The awards will be given to up to 5 recipients. The award consists of a certificate and 10,000 INR to cover registration and travel expenses.
This student travel award, sponsored by IEEE Industry Applications Society, has been established to support the students enrolled in the institutions of higher learning in the eight north-east states of India. These awards will be given to up to 40 recipients enrolled full-time at the engineering institutes/colleges/Universities in north-east India. The award consists of a certificate and 20,000 INR to cover registration and travel expenses.
Students enrolled in the North-East India institutes will be considered for both the ‘North-East India Student Travel Awards’ as well as the "Memorial Awards".
All the applicants will be considered for the ‘Professor Som Nath Mahendra Memorial Student Travel Awards’, ‘Professor Subhasis Nandi Memorial Student Travel Awards’, ‘Professor Paresh Chandra Sen Memorial Student Travel Awards’ and ‘Professor Ned Mohan Memorial Student Travel Awards’.
Requirements for Student Travel Award Applicants
Before applying for the Student Travel Award, please note that it is mandatory to complete the following steps:
Full registration after acceptance of the submitted paper
Upload the camera-ready paper submission and eCF in CMT portal
Please ensure that you have completed these requirements before submitting your Student Travel Award application. This will ensure that your application is considered eligible for review.
Application Process
The students are required to have following documents before submitting the Student Travel Award Applicants:
Cover Letter mentioning the need for the travel support.
Letter on the institute/college/university letterhead endorsed by the head of the Department/Dean/Supervisor with stamp endorsing your student status
CV (2-page max)
PDF(s) of the final camera-ready paper(s) [IEEE PDF eXpress check]

Results declaration: 10 October, 2026
The student must attend in-person and present the paper in-person to qualify for receiving the award. The certificate and the prize will be given on the 19th December 2026 during “Valedictory and Awards ceremony” of PEDES 2026.
